— June 28th, 2012 update: Here’s another reBar wedding from May 2012 — Justine & Alex! —
I had so much fun photographing Louisa & Stephen’s reBar wedding! At our first meeting, they impressed upon me the importance they placed on their wedding photos, and we spent the next few months planning out all of their ideas. They had a very specific vision for their day and I was eager to try and help them realize it!
They had initially planned to wait until the ceremony to see each other, but because they had a long list of photos they wanted and not many hours of daylight for their winter wedding, we were forced to get a little creative. I suggested that we stage their “first look” earlier in the day in a way that, though not walking down the aisle, is still momentous and special. We decided to have Stephen come to Louisa’s hotel room after she had gotten into her dress for the reveal!
With Louisa all ready and Stephen waiting patiently in the hallway, we were almost there! We cleared out the room so they could have some privacy, and I told Stephen that his bride was ready for him. He was so anxious to see her that I hardly had enough time to get a couple of photos before they were already embracing!
After some time alone, we jumped into the limo with the wedding party and drove all over Brooklyn to take photos at some of their favorite locations. First stop – Prospect Park!
Then it was on to ReBar in downtown Brooklyn for the ceremony & reception –it was such a gorgeous venue!
After the ceremony, we headed to the back where there’s a screening room for showing films — all the seats are old car seats! We used that for a portrait of the wedding party, and then it was up to the roof for some (freezing!) nighttime portraits outside!
Here’s some more from the rest of the night!
I featured this wedding on my website — take a look to see even more photos!
